Ultrasound at 20 weeks 3 days...

Friday was the most exciting day of my pregnancy thus far. The ultrasound was almost an hour long and absolutely amazing. Watching Ziggy kick his legs, swing his arms and suck his thumb gave me a real explanation of what and where I should be feeling him. Everything was healthy and working properly from his heart, his stomach, his kidneys, his brain, and his eyeballs! I feel so overwhelmed with pride and joy! I cannot believe I love him so much already!

Week 20- Half Baked!

in my golf outfit about to play a couple days shy of 20 weeks.

20 weeks on the button. Feeling great!

Baby's now the size of a cantaloupe!

Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies respond best to tastes they've already had via amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you'd like your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.

Week 19

Baby's now the size of a mango!
Vernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil, and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.) You might get to see the vernix at birth, especially if baby is premature.

Almost halfway there! Enjoying this portion of my pregnancy very much! Not sleeping as much as I used too but I am thankful for all the sleep I am getting now for that will be changing very soon. Getting wider for sure, feeling my hips and legs grow. Thought I felt some movement last night lying on the couch but it is not definite.

Week 18

first picture taken at 18weeks 4 day. second picture taken at 18weeks. funny how things change SO fast! funny things jumping into pictures also!

Baby's now the size of a sweet potato!
Baby's become amazingly mobile (compared to you, at least), passing the hours yawning, hiccupping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking, and swallowing. And baby is finally big enough that you'll soon be able to feel her movements.

Week 17

It's a BOY and we are stoked!

Baby's now the size of an onion!
Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. His umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes now feature one-of-a-kind prints.

I haven't felt any definite movement yet, but I cannot wait! My belly is growing, although I think the pictures don't show as big as I feel. I guess that's a good thing and I'll take it while I can!!
